Baby #2!

It's about time I talk about this pregnancy on the blog (and try to remember some details of the past few months). Back in January we were waiting to find out when we would get pregnant. I was feeling extremely dizzy, extra hormonal, and was like 2 days late (although that didn't really mean much). So I convinced Ben we should take a test. 3 tests later and I finally believed it was true....I was pregnant! It was the middle of the day and Ben happened to be home, so it was fun to be excited together.
Took this that night to send to our families
The first trimester wasn't nearly was bad as it was with Paige. I still had some nausea, but thanks to Zofran it wasn't too bad (so far I've only puked 3 times, so no complaints there). I usually took a nap during Paige's nap, but overall things were fairly manageable. We had our first ultrasound at 8 weeks and everything looked great...always a huge sigh of relief as the first trimester holds a lot of anxiety for us after our first pregnancy.

I felt like I was already showing at 8 weeks this time around. It has been crazy to me how much faster my bump has shown, and even crazier how fast my belly button started going back out. Burgers (normally not my favorite thing) always sounded good, which seemed "boyish" to me, and the pregnancy just felt different, so I was convinced the entire time it was a boy (and Ben was crossing his fingers). At 18 weeks we went in for our second ultrasound. At first they didn't think we would be able to tell, as the baby was breach and just not cooperating, but suddenly it was pretty clear, and I said "That's a boy!", and the tech confirmed it was definitely a boy. There are few times I've seen Ben smile that big, it was adorable.
18 weeks

I'm now over half way through the pregnancy, and feeling pretty good, just big. We are so excited to be having another baby. I started feeling him move around 18 weeks, but 19 weeks it was more definite kicks. I feel totally confused when I go shopping....no ruffle bums or hair bows?? So I haven't bought much, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it ;) I'm a little nervous about the kids sharing a room, and it's definitely a strange mixture of decor (basically the poor kid will be surround by Paige's pink), but it will work for the time being. People keep asking if Paige is excited about the baby- quite honestly I don't think she has a clue about it, but is catching on to changes, like a new stroller, big girl bed in her room, etc. The next few months will be pretty crazy for us with Ben's internship, and we'll basically get back just in time to have the baby, but hopefully that will just make the pregnancy go by quickly. We can't wait to meet this little guy and can't believe we will soon be a family of 4!
