-Defy Gravity with Fuqua Families. We all got a good workout in there.
-We went with friends to see Clifford at Barnes and Noble. Here's Paige giving Clifford a mini wave.
-My brother, Bryce, was in North Carolina for work so we met up with him for lunch. Long story, but due to lack of time (we were flying out of town the next day) and lack of parking, we kept things super classy and ate at the Pizza Hut buffet. We were still thrilled to get to see him!
-Face painting at Fuqua Friday. Paige kept rubbing her eyes, so it turned into a lovely eyeliner look.
-Ben and I did Crossfit for 2 months. I know, sounds too active for me, but our friends, Lis & Ian, were signing up, so we went for it. The boys would go at 6 am, then Lis and I would go at 7am. I pretty much felt like I was on the biggest loser last chance workout everyday. I also felt a little manly doing crazy weight lifting. But we loved it! I complained everyday to the trainer but in reality it was so much fun to workout with one of my best friends every morning (nothing like chatting to make exercising go by fast) and it definitely pushed me way harder than I would ever push myself. For my kids 20 years from now, your mom really did exercise once upon a time :)

-Ben's dreams came true. Coach K came and spoke to their class, then Ben, Ian, and Chase snuck out and had him sign their Duke basketballs and got to talk to him. They were like giddy little girls after. We also got to go to the athletic director's home and hear some fun sports stories.
-We sold the Civic and I almost cried. This was the car my parents gave me at 16, and this thing has been a trooper. I wasn't totally ready to part with it, but apparently it's not the most comfortable car for my 6'7" husband to drive and he was ready for a change. You'll always hold a special place in our hearts, little Civ.
-Paige is quite the performer/drama queen. Every morning included her picking out my highest heels to walk around and act out scenes from Frozen. She's also gotten into Little Mermaid and liked to give us "short cuts" (haircuts) while using a "dingle-hopper" (fork).
-Deacon started arming crawling which meant he started getting into a lot more...
-We went to a Durham Bulls game with friends.
-Our very last Fuqua Friday. For the past 2 years, we've spent our Friday dinners at Duke eating free food and chatting with friends. Chicken strips and mac & cheese, we will miss you.
-Tornado warnings. We were under tornado watches plenty of times, but there were two times we were under tornado warnings. This is when you get alerts from Duke and from the Red Cross to take cover immediately. Those things totally freaked me out, and you better believe we were huddled with the kids in the bathroom.
-And mostly we just squeezed in a lot of gatherings with our Fuqua friends. We loved our LDS MBA group and were more than happy to get in as many girls nights, picnics, game nights, etc, before we left.

So many fun pics in this post. I miss you and your kids
ReplyDeleteI'm going to miss visiting North Carolina. I loved the Southern accents. Everything was so "precious".
