Camping in Wisconsin

A few weekends ago we went camping at Devils Lake in Wisconsin with Bryce, Camille, and Graham. Ben and I aren't exactly what I would call "campers" (it might have taken us a good hour to put up our tent... :), but Bryce and Camille convinced us to go, and we were very glad we did.

Our camp site. My parents decided they'll stick to hotels, so we are now the proud owners of their tent, and they supplied the sweet bug net! Bryce and Camille, being true campers, came prepared with everything else. (thanks Camille for the pictures!)

 A creative way to cook dinner

 This boy sure loves camping! At one point he was literally rolling in the dirt. The highlight, however, is when we drew on Basil’s (their bulldog) butt with a purple magic marker. Her white fur was just a blank canvas.

We had fun staying up playing cards and the next day we went on a hike that had great views of the lake (and made me realize I’m out of shape :) Then we put on our swimsuits and relaxed at the lake. It was a great trip and a good chance to ease our way in to the whole camping thing :)
