4th of July Week

We started things off by getting Paige ready for her birthday by taking her for her first "real" haircut. I've had a friend attempt to trim up the back twice, but I finally caved at took her to a real kids salon. I thought she would like sitting in the car and watching tv....I was wrong. She cried most of the time, hated the cape, and told the lady, "I don't want to stay here."  Luckily her curls stayed and now it has a little better shape.

We were most excited, though, for Ben to fly in. Paige hadn't seen him in almost a month, and me almost 3 weeks, so we were definitely counting down the days. It was stressful dealing with last minute tickets (since we had to wait to see where he would be), but SO worth it. Paige was asleep in the car when we picked him up, and when she woke up we just heard "Daddy!". Then she just snuggled on his shoulder and smiled. That girl loves her daddy. He even arrived with my favorite treats and a dress he had picked out for Paige. I mean, how adorable to picture Ben shopping for a little girl dress?! Melts my heart.

We had a big gathering on the 4th with my mom's family, then were lame and passed out to the sound of all the crazy fireworks on the lake (we had already gone to watch the local fireworks the night before). The rest of the weekend was spent playing in the sun and loving having Ben around (and Paige's birthday...next post).
