Paige 9-10 months

Since it's almost Paige's birthday, maybe I should get caught up on blogging.
Paige 9 months:
19 lbs (50-75 percentile)
28 in (75 percentile)
18 in (90-95 percentile)
She enjoyed waving to the doctor
Camille took some cute 9 month pictures for us (I'm already missing having her as my personal photographer!!)
Thanks again, Brambles, for the dress!
My favorite
Showing her new trick of standing
Little cousins
-At 9 months could stand and hold onto something, 10 months started walking along the furniture
Trying to capture her in her cute room before we moved
-Her crawling became more much effective and soon she was crawling all over the house
Daddy's hat
-She got her 2 bottom teeth!
-Still an awesome sleeper, with 2 naps. Although loved to stand up in her crib
She's a great shopper
-Loves her food. Was still nursing about 3 times a day, but started having more table food
-Started on a sippy cup, which made her seem so big
-Started babbling a lot more, and said "woah" and "dadda" (which I guess we'll claim was her first word :(
-Does ok with bath time, but usually hates getting her hair washed and getting dressed

-Learned how to blow raspberries and click her tongue
-She met Uncle Tyler for the first time! He was in Chicago for business so we were able to meet him for dinner. Paige absolutely loved him!

-At the end of 10 months, right before we moved, Paige figured out how to climb the stairs. We hadn't worried too much about her going up, and then one day we look over and she's 3 steps up! She would get so excited and stop to clap for herself...which would result in falling
Bribing her with a binky
We made a quick trip to Minnesota in May to see the Holms before we moved. Paige was amazing on the drive (slept about 5 out of 6 hours). I barely got any pictures, but we had a great time chatting, seeing a play downtown, and seeing grandparents and some of Ben's friends. Paige loved all the attention from so many family members.

Getting babysat by Aunt Hannah
Paige still loves mommy when she's sad or tired, but there's no one funnier or more exciting than daddy. I would put her at the top of the stairs every day when Ben got home and she would get so excited to see him walking up. We love our little baby, but she sure is seeming older!

Easter

Our Easter week started off very fun with an exciting package from my mom. Ben got an awesome Cabellas shirt that says Lacey right on it. He is always making fun of my parents town, so my mom thought it would be the perfect gift :) Paige got some very fun stuff in her package.

Next we met up with my good friend, Kristin, and her cute girls to see the Easter Bunny.

Friday Ben and I went to the temple and our friends, the Quinns, watched Paige. Sarah wanted to test out her new camera, so while we were gone they did a little spring photo-shoot. Here's just a few of the fun pictures she took.

Saturday we met up with Bryce and Camille and the kids for a local Easter egg hunt. It was freezing (I even saw a kid in a snow suit) but totally worth it for the 2 minutes of hunting.

Then came Easter morning. I made my first batch of tasty monkey bread, enjoyed the traditional diet coke paired with Cadbury Mini Eggs, and Paige had lots of Cheerio and yogurt-melt filled eggs.
Ben gave a wonderful talk at church about the life of the Savior, then we headed over to Bryce and Camille's house for more hunting and a delicious dinner.

One very happy Easter week!

Mitt for President!

Ben and I have been into politics much more lately because of Mitt Romney. So we took our duty as Illinois republicans seriously and hit the voting booth and then headed with our friends, the Quinns, to the voting night party in Schaumburg. It pretty much surpassed all of our expectations. Where we ended up standing just happened to be a great spot, and people started telling us they wanted to stand by us because "they knew Romney would come hold our baby". Well they were right!

As soon as his victory speech was over, he came right over to us and Ben handed him Paige. Then he called Ann over and she held Paige. He told us "you're not getting her back". Then Ann asked "whose baby is this?", as I tried to peek my head up through the crowd. It was totally passed Paige's bed time but she was a happy little girl through the whole thing...even through the the "Mitt" chants (which I loved!). Later that night we realized Paige's picture was on the Chicago Tribune's website and she was on CNN, the camera right on Mitt and Ann holding her! So fun to see our baby girl on TV!
Another newspaper pic...you can see Ben's head in the corner
In her patriotic dress

They both were adorable with her. Then we all squeezed are way next to the walk way he would be exiting by. Ann talked right to Sarah and I and Mitt came and shook all 4 of our hands!
Shaking Ben's hand
Ben's head and my nose are in this one
We were really excited we scored signs!
So glad we went, and now if Mitt really does win the whole thing, Paige will have a picture with the president! And in case you were wondering, yes...Mitt really is just as handsome in person :)

St. Patrick's Day in Chicago

One of the things on our Chicago bucket lists to do before we move was to see the river dyed green. Well this year it was amazingly warm (80 degree!) weather for St. Patrick's Day, so we took the train downtown. This was Paige and mine's first time riding the train to the city and it was a fun little adventure.
There were so many people dressed in green, it was so fun to see. We quickly made our way over to the river, just in time to see them start putting the dye in.

Then we met up with Bryce and Camille and the kids, made a quick stop for food, and then headed to the parade. It was gorgeous weather, so hot that Ben and Paige had to wear sunscreen...in March!
Waiting for the parade to start
Paige enjoying her view above the crowd...the perks of a tall daddy
We stayed for a few minutes of the parade and then started making our way back to the train. We made a few stops for some photo opps.
Willis Tower...aka Sears Tower

Last picture with our camera...the lady taking it dropped our camera (it took this picture and then stopped working). We grabbed it before it fell in the river, but the lens part is broken. Luckily Ben got us a frozen lemonade to fight back my tears. We still had a great time, and are glad we got to check that off our list of Chicago adventures.

Paige 7 & 8 months

Paige's funny personality is coming through more and more and she has been learning more tricks.

7 months:
-started doing a funny thing where she scrunches her nose at you. I don't know where she got this, but she does it all the time and it's hilarious

-learned to shake her head back and forth really fast. Again, don't know where she got this (have I told her "no" too much ??)

-went swimming for the first time (in Cabo) and loved it!

8 months:
-learned to wave! She stops nursing to wave bye to Ben every morning, and loves to wave at people during sacrament meeting
Cute dress from Aunt Lynne
-learned to clap! Just say "Yay" and Paige will usually give a round of applause
Cute shoes from Tina
-is eating a lot more finger foods. She has become a big fan of Ego waffles and Multi-grain Cheerios (a girl of her mother's heart :) and will eat really just about anything we're eating. She still doesn't have any teeth, but she is getting very good at gumming things. Peach cobbler is still a baby food favorite and she still nurses 3 times a day. The girl loves her food!
-wore pigtails for the first time

-still is an awesome sleeper and usually takes 2 naps a day

-loves smiling and waving to people as we shop, but occasionally gets a little "stranger danger" and burst into tears
-she has started crawling! She more moves her legs, then throws herself forward, but she's moving! And has figured out she can scoot backwards on the hardwood floors very fast!
Sweater Aunt Pam made her
-met Mitt Romney! (post to come)
-played at the park, doing the slide and monkey bars for the first time

First slide....we love 80 degree weather in March!
