If I haven't mentioned this before, Duke basketball is a little intense. So when it comes to getting student season passes, you have to camp out from Friday night to Sunday morning, sleeping in Uhauls and tents.
Then they ring a bell every few hours and you have to go check in, resulting in barely any sleep the entire weekend (especially when you add in all the loud drunken activities going on around you). And all this just to get your name in a lottery (of the 1100 people who finished) to have the chance of getting a season pass.
As insane as this sounds, Ben loves it. He and the LDS MBA guys, along with a few other Duke friends, all camped out together and then pool their tickets. Ben was lucky enough to get his name drawn this year, which means he has a ticket to the Duke-UNC crazy rivalry game. If you know my husband, you know how exciting that is. And on top of all that, Coach K and the team came to speak to all of the campers. The LDS guys were even more excited to see Jabari Parker for the first time. Oh Duke, you know how to reel us in.
Oh dang! I have never seen campout, looks intense!
ReplyDeleteThis post makes me more jealous than I have ever been in my life. I don't even know where to start. Coach K, I will start with Coach K:) And that rivalry game, holy smokes best few hours of my entire life. Lucky Ben!
